Overcoming Literacy Learning Loss (Module 2): Developing and Remediating Students Using the Science of Reading
In the second unit of this literacy course, participants will continue examining the remaining components of reading (vocabulary and comprehension) and then move into learning how to identify possible gaps in student understanding. After discovering how to identify areas of need, the last lessons in this unit will focus on how to successfully provide remediation in those areas, beginning with an explanation on how to provide structures and routines in the classroom that will expedite remediation time and help participants create a plan for maximizing instructional time, both for whole group and small group lessons.
Participants will receive several examples of structures and routines they can turn around and implement in their own classroom settings as appropriate.
